GROWTH :)

I have learned a lot about myself since becoming a Jag. I have learned my strengths and my weakness. There are at least 3 main things that I have learned about myself.
  • As you go through life, you learn to adjust.
Since becoming a Jag, I have learned how to adjust and readjust if I have too. Mostly every job has it's pros and cons, but it is up to you to determine which direction your day is going to go in.
  • Content- A state of peaceful happiness :)
It's the little things that count. Every time I think I have it bad, someone else always has it worse.

  • Don't stress over what you can't control!
This semester has been very trying, school is trying in general. I often wanted to give up or even thought about taking a gap year, because I was so stressed out on planning how "I" want things to work out in my life, and career, but I have learned that every thing works together according to God's plan.

I am thankful I became a Jag, I learned so much about myself as well as others.

One piece of advice !

You learn something new everyday, weather you were looking forward to it or not.
Starting college is a new and different challenge.
You don't have all the answers and it seems like everyday or every other day something comes up. So, you end up worrying your significant other, parents, friends, and etc.
That is why it is always good to have a listening ear or someone who understands and will guide you on this path.
If I could back in time and give myself one piece of advice before I started my journey, it would be "Don't get to comfortable."
Life is what you make it, and however you react whenever it throws at you, will be the turnout,
As I stated above, "it seems like everyday or every other day something comes up," if you're prepared and not too comfortable you will know in a cetrain way of how to deal with things.

Stay one step ahead.

Are you ready to be a JAG ?

The end of the year is approaching and we are all aggravated and are ready to enjoy the summer, BUT you start your freshman/junior (transfer) year here at South.
It's always best to STAY prepared so you won't have to get prepared. There are many ways to prepare for South Alabama and you can get prepared in 5 simple ways.

FRESHMAN:
-Make sure your transcript has been sent.
-Make sure your FASFA has been completed and all other material for funding has been turned in.
-Make sure your housing application has been completed. If you have a roommate, get in contact with them so that you all can both be on board with items that are needed/wanted in the resident halls.
-Attend orientation/register for classes. Ger familiar with the campus. Find your classes, and the buildings that your classes will be held in/

TRANSFER STUDENTS:
-Make sure all transcripts from the previous school(s) you have attended have been mailed/faxed in.
-Find an advisor on campus, meet with them and continue to meet with them throughout the year so that you can stay on track.
-Attend transfer orientation/register for classes.
-Any Financial Aid/ Veteran Affairs (funding) make sure that it is completed by the summer. VA information needs to completed in a timely manner before the Fall semester or there can be a delay in your funding.
-Find ways to get involved, reach out to other students or friends that you have on campus. Use your resources.
-Also, establish living arrangements weather it is on campus or off campus. Explore ALL possibilities.

Spring Time at South :)

HELLOOOOOOOO SPRING,

I welcome you with open arms!

It's officially spring time but, the weather in Mobile, Alabama is not agreeing. I have a few spots that I love. I will start off by stating my first one:
My favorite outdoor space is outside on my patio. My rocking chair is sitting off in the shade. I can imagine myself rocking back and forth listening to my beats spill, while the wind blows my hair.

My second favorite place in the spring is at my mom's house under a shade tree. She has a picnic table set up. This is where I can sit outside in the yard and eat as many pounds of craw fish and shrimp that my belly can hold.

     Spring is here.

REMEMBER:

April Showers Bring MAY Flowers :)

HAPPY SPRING!!!!
